Derrick Spencer
Derrick, a Chicago native, is no stranger to the stumbling blocks that prevent the youth from advancing in impoverished communities. After many years of reflecting and planning, a decision was made to provide support and resources for people living in communities very similar to the ones he grew up in. Determined to help shape and change the trajectory of children susceptible to violence, he established Block Builders Foundation. A commitment and devotion to community.
In his spare time Derrick enjoys attending family gatherings, hitting the gym and scoping out new restaurants.
Amirah
Watkins
Amirah Watkins is an advanced practice esthetician with a deep passion for self-development and empowering others. A former ambitious youth, Amirah always sought opportunities to grow academically and professionally, which led her to become involved with Block Builders Foundation, a cause close to her heart that fosters personal and community growth.

Beyond her professional achievements, Amirah is also a creative spirit who enjoys writing poetry and singing in her free time. She believes in the power of self-expression and uses these outlets to connect with others and inspire growth.
Rory Purnell
Office Manager
Rory's commitment and connection to the community runs deep. As a licensed barber instructor, his entrepreneurial skills have placed him in a position to be of benefit to a wide range of people. The passion behind this craft has led him to Block Builders Foundation. Recently Rory has spent time advocating for the rehabilitation of those incarcerated in the state of Minnesota. As a result of that, he has been granted the opportunity to enter the prisons and provide barbering services for those in need. We are honored to have him on board.
